Come for a healthful walk with us!
Three mornings a week, year-round, a big group of upper Manhattan adults participate in an enjoyable, healthful one-hour exercise session that includes warm-ups and stretching, walking, light weight training and exercise to build up strength and flexibility.
Sound like fun? It really is – and it’s one of the most healthful activities you can do. Walking helps control weight and blood pressure and reduces the risk of heart attack, stroke and osteoporosis. It's the ideal exercise for older adults.
Great exercise three times a week
Walking Works Wonders meets three times a week from fall through spring, at Isabella’s gym and the Armory Track & Field Center, the best indoor track in New York City and during the summer at George Washington High School's outdoor track.
All activity is done at the participant's own pace, under the guidance and inspiration of Coach Nick Bdera.
We’d love to have you walk with us. To join Walking Works Wonders, please email Marilyn Pacheco, Program Coordinator, call her at (212) 342-9224 or click here to sign up online.
