If you are looking for a safe, caring place for yourself or for a loved one, you'll find the very best at Isabella. But that's just the beginning of what you'll find here.
State of the art care since 1875
Since its inspired beginning in 1875, Isabella, a non-profit, non-sectarian organization, has pioneered in the care of the elderly of New York. Located in northern Manhattan, Isabella has grown from a traditional nursing home into a progressive provider of state-of-the-art care for all - on its own campus and in the community at large.
Isabella offers a continuum of care to those in need - from the family requiring childcare to those seeking sensitive support for an aging loved one. Our mission is to provide quality care through diverse programs designed to promote health and independence within and beyond our walls.
Individual Attention
Isabella is a friendly and nurturing community that encourages, values and facilitates individuality, personal choice and self-determination. Residents, families, staff, volunteers and guests create an environment that rises above preconceived notions of traditional long-term care. Through the collaborative efforts of all involved, Isabella has become a place of freedom, dignity and alternatives that nourishes body, mind and soul.
Living Life to the Fullest
Throughout our nursing home, senior housing, Adult Day Health Care program and of course Child Day Care, a wide assortment of activities take place each day. In addition to recreation there are social, spiritual and enjoyable events, like exercise programs, arts and crafts, games, movies, pastoral care, therapeutic touch, parties and trips. We bring the same diversity of activities to the community on an individualized basis to those we care for in our Home Health Care Program.
Our well-trained staff anticipates and responds to the needs of each resident and program participant. Taking a short stroll, chatting or sharing a moment to enjoy watching the colorful birds and fish throughout our buildings are simple tasks that enhance the home-like atmosphere. At Isabella, our focus is to provide each individual the opportunity to lead an enjoyable and meaningful life.
An Important Member of the Community
Isabella is a vital part of the New York community. We offer a variety of employment prospects, a wealth of volunteer opportunities and the chance to learn and grow in a dynamic environment. Our Senior Resource Center, 50+ Club and Walking Works Wonders Program provide important information and guidance to community residents who want to live healthy and active lives. Isabella's Supportive Services for Seniors (NORC) Programs offer education and support to residents in neighboring buildings. As a member of the Washington Heights/Inwood Council in Aging (WHICOA), Isabella works with many community organizations to provide the latest information about services to the elders of our community.b
