El Corazón Neighborhood NORC is a program for adults over the age of 60 living in the geographical area of W. 171st Street to W.173rd Street between Ft. Washington Avenue and St. Nicholas Avenue, and W.169th Street to W.171st Street between St. Nicholas Avenue and Audubon Avenue. El Corazón includes seniors living in 43 buildings with its base of operation located in Isabella’s Senior Resource Center, a comfortable storefront with a “clubhouse” feel.
The NNORC works with other local providers and community organizations to address the needs of the seniors in this vibrant community with its lively Latino heritage and mixed ethnic population.
Our program includes:
- Assistance with government programs and entitlements
- Coordination of healthcare needs
- Health and Wellness Screenings
- Diabetes management workshops
- Home safety assessments
- Educational seminars and lectures
- Volunteer opportunities
- Recreation activities such as Crochet classes and social events
- Exercise Programs such as Yoga
- Support Groups
- Day Trips
Individuals participate in a variety of ways. Family members and friends are encouraged to contact us about a loved one they may be concerned about who resides in El Corazón.
