With funds provided by the Training and Upgrading Fund (TUF) of SEIU Local 1199, and with Hostos Community College providing the Instruction, 19 Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA’s) were trained on-site at Isabella. The training provided CNA’s with a greater skill set to improve the overall quality of care for our residents. The CNA’s received training in the areas of Phlebotomy, Electrocardiogram (EKG) and Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
We are very proud to announce that all 19 CNA’s successfully graduated as Patient Care Technicians (PCT’s). We applaud them for studying and successfully completing the course while still working full time.
The room was filled with expressions of happiness, tears and many hugs of joy. Our CNA’s represent various backgrounds. Eusebia Romero, Mercedes, Zenaida, Febtola Egbiali and Gladys Bautista all began their journey as volunteers and have progressed in their careers becoming an integral part of our Isabella family. With different paths, all are dedicated to providing excellent resident care.
We congratulate them all.
