On the afternoon of Monday, March 29, 2010 a choir of fifty students from the St. Edmond Aerosmith Catholic High School of Wigan, England visited the residents of Isabella’s Nursing Home for the very first time. Wigan is a town in Greater Manchester, England – a thirteen-hour trip away.
The students ranging from ages 12 – 16 came dressed in their school uniform and were excited to be visiting. Their voices echoed through the room as they sang songs of friendship and love. Some students performed solos, and the school staff performed as well. The choir entertained the residents with a number of songs.
Among these were the popular “Human” by The Killers, “Viva la Vida” by Coldplay and “You Can’t Stop the Beat” by Hairspray. They also performed some nostalgic songs such as “Food Glorious Food” and “As Long as He Needs Me”.
The Choir has toured before and has visited Spain, Italy and the Czech Republic. This was their very first time performing for Nursing Home Residents. To the recommendation of their tour company, Isabella came highly recommended, and they chose to visit. Our residents and staff were very grateful for their visit and hope to see them back again.
